Tribute to Joshua Robbins
Coroner's Hearing at St Pancras London
On 29th January 2026 sadly 23 year old Joshua Robbins fell from a building known as Thurston Dwellings in London. On 21st July 2026, I paid my respects in the morning at the building before making my way to St Pancras Coroner's Court.
Potential Corporate Manslaughter Charges
At the coroner's pre-inquest hearing, Detective Inspector Mark Paterson of the Metropolitan Police stated that the scene of Joshua's death had been examined at the time and a forensic engineer attended.
The court heard that the Met Police is carrying out a corporate manslaughter investigation.
The pre-inquest hearing was undertaken at the court with Coroner Ms Mary Hassell present in person.
The parents of Joshua, Ms Fiona Garrett and Mr Will Robbins were in attendance virtually and were represented by the Barrister Mr Christian Weaver via the firm Ison Harrison Solicitors.
The housing association was represented by a Barrister upon instruction of Devonshires Solicitors.
Three journalists and myself were also present inclusive of ITV, PA Media and Camden Local Newspaper.
Hearing Adjourned
A further pre-hearing review is to take place on 6th January 2027. Coroner Mary Hassell did not have her 2027 diary with her initially during the hearing and requested the usher to obtain it for her. Once obtained, Coroner Hassell had requested for 5th January 2027 but Mr Weaver sought for the 6th (next day) which was then approved.
No More Falls Campaign
Joshua's mother Fiona has created a campaign which is incredible as it calls for mandatory safety standards for high-rise buildings that have types of "set-ups, or window boxes, balconies".
I have heard Joshua described as having been an extremely polite person and a "happy, go lucky young man" from County Derry.
A national newspaper had stated that Joshua's mother Fiona stated "my son, my heart, my forever child, twenty three years was never enough, not for his kindness, his gentle soul, his quiet goodness, I dont know how a world keeps turning when yours stops, I carry you with me always Josh".
May Joshua Robbins be granted the highest paradise in heaven.
